Barnabas House – Barnabas House is a Christian centered structured ministry for those who have been released from prison and with life controlling issues designed to prepare them for a new life of faithful service.
Capital Area Workforce Development Board – Capital Area Workforce Development is a public-private partnership that focuses on economic development by ensuring the local workforce has the skills, training and education to meet the needs of local employers. The board oversees workforce solutions in Wake and Johnston counties designed to serve businesses, individuals and youth.
Center for Effective Public Policy: The Center’s staff is composed of approximately fifteen individuals, the majority of whom joined us after full careers in the criminal justice field. Center staff members include individuals who have themselves been probation/parole officers; pretrial service providers; correctional officers and counselors in secure facilities; providers of clinical treatment services to offenders; patrol officers; legal advisors to paroling authorities and corrections agencies; and high-level administrators and directors for statewide probation, parole, public safety, and corrections agencies.
Coastal Horizons Center, Inc. – Coastal Horizons Center, Inc. is a private, non-profit service delivery Corporation servicing Eastern North Carolina and Durham. The Corporation is governed by a Board of Trustees representing a cross-section of residents from the area with services provided by a staff of qualified professionals.

Community Success Initiative – The mission of the organization is to help make the world a better place through programs that help individuals and communities be aware of personal growth and “success” principals, inspire others to reach their potential, and help to build vibrant and healthy communities.
Exodus Homes – Exodus Homes is a faith-based United Way agency, offering transitional and permanent supportive housing for homeless recovering addicts, alcoholics, and formerly incarcerated people returning to our community from treatment programs and prison.
Goodwill NC Project Reentry – The mission of Project Re-entry is to provide transition services for ex-offenders returning to Forsyth, Davidson, Davie, Rowan, Stokes, Surry, Yadkin, Buncombe, McDowell and Iredell Counties after serving active prison sentences.
Inmates to Entrepreneurs – Inmates to Entrepreneurs is a not-for-profit community outreach program started by Sageworks with the mission to help former inmates start over by providing them the information needed to become productive participants in society through entrepreneurship.
Jobs On The Outside – Jobs on the Outside is a free program that helps justice-involved individuals successfully obtain and keep a job. The program includes a 16-hour workshop and case management, incorporating strengths assessments, soft and concrete workplace skills, cognitive behavioral principles, job search and placement assistance, and supportive services that can lead to competitive employment.
Johnson Second Chance Staffing – Our goal is to help improve their quality of life while providing an untapped but viable resource for our partner corporations. We have witnessed first-hand the challenges judicially served individuals face trying to obtain suitable employment, as well as the challenges employers face identifying staffing companies to partner with where there is a mutually beneficial relationship. Our team is passionate about identifying opportunities where justice served individuals can find not only employment, but a career. We take a different approach than other staffing agencies by providing services that benefit the “whole person” such as mental health and substance abuse counseling, job readiness, and entrepreneurship.
LINC Inc. – Leading Into New Communities, Inc. (LINC, Inc.) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides transitional living and case management services to meet the immediate needs of men and women returning from prison and culturally specific youth development services for African American young men ages 16-24.
Local Reentry Council for Durham County – A Local Reentry Council is an organized network of individuals and agencies that provide support and the coordination of services for justice involved individuals. The Criminal Justice Resource Center (CJRC) has been designated as the intermediary agency for the Durham Local Reentry Council. The role of the intermediary agency is to bring organizations together to facilitate the work, advocacy and the coordination of services for justice involved individuals.
MenTouring Our Brothers, Inc. – Mentouring Our Brothers (MOB) is committed to preventing young minority males from entering the juvenile and criminal justice systems and supporting those who are transitioning from the systems by equipping and empowering them through “mentouring” relationships, educational and enrichment programs, and employment.
National HIRE Network: The National Helping Individuals with criminal records Re-enter through Employment Network is both a national clearinghouse for information and an advocate for policy change. The National H.I.R.E. Network also provides training and technical assistance to agencies working to improve the employment prospects for people with criminal records.
NC Dept of Corrections County Resource Guide: The NCDPS County Resource Guide was developed by the NC Department of Public Safety’s Office of Research and Planning/Office of Transition Services to provide released offenders, Probation/Parole Officers, Prison Case Managers and Social Workers and others with a searchable database of community resources in each of North Carolina’s 100 counties. The database contains contact information for many core local, state, and federal agencies, as well as various Faith-based and Community-based service organizations that provide assistance to released offenders and/or offenders under correctional supervision to support a successful transition into their community.
NC-FIT (Formerly Incarcerated Transitions): Connect people being released from incarceration with needed health services; to include physical health, mental health, and substance use disorder treatment. Assist FIT clients with all aspects of re-entry; to include housing, job training, legal needs, education, transportation, and life skills.
North Carolina Handbook for Family and Friends of Inmates: The mission of the North Carolina Department of Correction is to promote public safety by the administration of a fair and humane system, which provides reasonable opportunities for adjudicated offenders to develop progressively responsible behavior.
North Carolina Justice Center – The NC Second Chance Alliance is a statewide alliance of advocacy organizations, service providers, faith-based organizations, community leaders and interested citizens that have come together to achieve the safe and successful reintegration of adults and juveniles with criminal records by promoting policies that remove barriers to productive citizenship.

Passage Home – Passage Home provides holistic opportunities to strengthen families and neighborhoods that are facing severe socioeconomic challenges. Passage Home’s programs and services are developed to break the cycle of poverty and have lasting effect.
Piedmont Triad Regional Court Project Re-Entry – Assists former offenders returning to the community after serving prison sentences in avoiding the potential pitfalls associated with life after incarceration. The mission of the program is to improve the reintegration of ex-offenders, reduce criminal justice cost, and increase public safety.
RCND – The Religious Coalition for a Nonviolent Durham (RCND) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization comprised of individuals, who as an expression of their faith and goodwill, actively seek an end to the violence that is plaguing Durham neighborhoods.
Reentry National Media Outreach Campaign: The Reentry National Media Outreach Campaign is an exciting multi-year media outreach effort that focuses on the reintegration of men and women leaving prison and returning home. More people are leaving prisons across the country to return to their families and communities than at any other time in our history. Nationally, over 600,000 individuals will be released from state and federal prisons this year, a fourfold increase over the past two decades. From a number of perspectives, the issue of how people fare after they exit the prison gates has received renewed attention. Many will have difficulty managing the most basic ingredients for successful reintegration – reconnecting with jobs, housing, and their families, and accessing needed substance abuse and health care treatment.
Reentry Policy Council: The Council of State Governments Justice Center is a national nonprofit organization that serves policymakers at the local, state, and federal levels from all branches of government. Staff provides practical, nonpartisan advice and evidence-based, consensus-driven strategies to increase public safety and strengthen communities.
