Louisiana Reentry Programs
Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Louisiana Inc. – Goodwill’s Re-Integration Program (G.R.I.P.) offers skills training and enrollment to eligible participants who were released from the Louisiana Department Correction, Federal Prison System or City/Parish prison within the last 7 years.
Health Care for Re-Entry Veterans: Healthcare for Reentry Veterans (HCRV) is a service designed to address the community Reentry needs for Veterans within 6 months of release or 4 months post release from incarceration.
Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office Reentry Program: The Reentry Program includes intervention strategies that will help deter the recidivism of offenders. The approach will help offenders in acquiring services needed to become law abiding, productive citizens within their community. While participating in the program, offenders reside at the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office Work Release facility. Upon completion of the Reentry program, clients maybe transferred to Work Release status if authorzied by La. Department of Corrections.
Louisiana Re-Entry Court Program – The Re-Entry Program in Louisiana focuses on a seamless stream of services to offenders from the time of their entry to the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola to their transition into post-incarceration society. Re-Entry Court allows nonviolent “short-timer” offenders to serve their sentence under the guidance of offender mentors, many of whom will be at Angola until they die. With a strong commitment from Warden Burl Cain, these “lifers” teach younger offenders life skills like anger management, parenting, and managing finances. Theses life skills will supplement the educational component where offenders learn trades such as automotive and small engine repair, carpentry, welding, culinary arts, horticulture, drywall installation, generator and HVAC repair, commercial painting, masonry and plumbing.
One Touch Ministry Reentry Housing Program – One Touch Ministry (OTM) is dedicated to the reduction of recidivism by providing housing, food, clothing, employment readiness and assistance, and counseling to recently released ex-offenders. As a faith-based, not-for-profit organization, we strive to ensure that ex-offenders who complete the program have all the tools necessary to become law-abiding and productive members of society, through spiritual guidance, education, life skills programming, and mental health counseling.
