Career Resources Reentry Works – Career Resources, Inc. operates on the principles of accountability, outcomes and premium customer service. Community Partners in Action – Serving thousands of people each year, Community Partners in Action focuses on behavioral change and advocates for criminal justice reform. Together, our employment, basic needs and recovery services positively impact lives, while helping to reduce recidivism & enhance public safety–at a fraction of the cost of prison. The People We Serve Face Many Challenges to overcome in their quest to change their lives: poverty and homelessness; gaps in their education and chronic unemployment; substance abuse, trauma and mental health disorders. They face barriers to services, housing and jobs because they have a record. For many, change is hard because of the complex issues they face. Please note that many of our programs that offer employment-0related services require a referral from Parole or Probation into our program
Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness Program: creates change through leadership, advocacy, and building the capacity of members and the field to respond to environmental challenges. Our collective mission is to prevent and end homelessness in Connecticut.
CRS – Community Re-entry Services (CRS) is specifically designed to assist individuals who have a history with the Department of Correction (DOC). CRS may begin while an individual is still incarcerated during an “engagement” period, just prior to release from prison. The program begins with a Skills for Success class including topics specific to those with a criminal history. Skills for Success teaches job readiness skills in a classroom setting. Topics include attitude, personal appearance, work ethic, listening skills, interpersonal skills, presentation, interviewing skills and techniques, accepting diversity, motivation and job retention skills.
Family ReEntry Program: To develop, implement, and share innovative, sustainable, cost-effective solutions to the unprecedented numbers of people involved in the criminal justice system.
New Opportunities – New Opportunities mission is to improve the quality of life for economically disadvantaged individuals by providing the necessary resources to increase their standard of living, foster self-improvement, and maximize self-empowerment. New Opportunities Inc. is the community action agency that serves Waterbury, Meriden, Torrington and 27 surrounding Connecticut towns. We offer a variety of social service programs designed to eliminate poverty and assist people in need.
OIC Project Employment – OIC’s Project Employment provides training and employment support services to ex-offenders and their families as they re-integrate into the community and assist them in becoming productive, responsible citizens.
Wheeler Community Justice – We work closely with the judicial system to help individuals, couples and families involved with the courts to remain safely in the community. Our services include education and intervention options delivered in community settings.
