The WRC is primarily a day treatment center for women released from the San Francisco County Jail. WRC provides referrals for housing, substance abuse programs, employment, medical and mental health programs, and legal issues. The Homeboy Hotline – The Homeboy Hotline (HBH), founded by Robert “Fleetwood” Bowden, is a reentry program providing the urgent resources needed, particularly within the first 72 hours of release from the prison industrial complex. For it is during this critical time that healing, supportive and effective connections have to be made to ensure freedom and eradicate recidivism. This is why we are the “72 Hours of Hope”…we are the sign that is posted along the road of redemption, assisting our brothers and sisters with guidance and direction towards a life of change that will lead them to becoming productive members of our community.

VOA Bay Area Reentry – Men leaving incarceration face a wide variety of challenges. Volunteers of America in the Bay Area provides a variety of services to help these individuals start new, healthy lives, significantly reducing recidivism. These services enrich the lives of the men we serve through education, employment counseling, job training, parenting classes, life-skills workshops and more. At the same time, our community is improved by helping men transform into better husbands, fathers, employees and neighbors.
