A conviction involving an automobile or DUI will likely eliminate you from any type of driving job.

Above all, be honest about all personal information and your work and criminal history.

Not everyone who applies at Dollar General will be hired or even pass the background check. It is not the end of the world.

There are jobs available with other employers.

Learn from your experience. Consider what went well in the interview and what didn’t.

Use that to your advantage next time.

Take responsibility for past actions and explain how you are putting your life in order.

Remember that you are not defined by your crime.

You are not defined by our mistakes but in how you recover from them.

What did the application look for?

The application was a typical application that you can expect from most employers. They focused heavily on retail experience which I assume is pretty common for most retail stores.

The background check looked for the typical things - felonies, driving record, and criminal history. If you have any of these, I would be prepared to explain them.

Other thoughts?

I like the working environment, but the customers can sometimes be a bit difficult to deal with. Overall though, this is a great option for those looking to find work yet have a felony on their record.

Other thoughts?

The work environment was okay, but I'd suggest looking at all options and taking this as a last resort. I wasn't that happy when I worked there.
